County Cork’s RLA I Program Receives High Commendation in Best Ag Strategy Category, Nominated for Best Discretionary Manager at CTA Intelligence US Performance Awards 2014

Mar, 13 2014

County Cork LLC, an agriculture-focused Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA), is pleased to announce it received recognition at the inaugural CTA Intelligence US Performance Awards 2014. County Cork’s RLA I managed futures strategy was nominated in the Best Ag Strategy and Best Discretionary Manager categories and received ‘Highly Commended’ recognition in the Best Ag Strategy category.

The CTA Intelligence Performance Awards 2014 are designed for CTA managers, based in the US or Canada, who have proven themselves over the course of 2013. Those qualifying CTAs are then judged by representatives from CTA Intelligence and industry experts. The awards ceremony was held in New York on February 27, 2014.

County Cork’s RLA I program is a fundamental discretionary managed futures program managed by Ronald L. Anderson—an industry veteran with over 40 years of direct grain and oilseed trading experience. The program trades grain and oilseed futures and futures options cleared primarily on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). In 2013 the RLA I program achieved returns of 7.95%; and, from its inception at the beginning of 2009 through 2013, had a cumulative compounded return of 70.19%.

“We are honored that our RLA I Managed Futures Ag strategy was Highly Commended by the CTA Intelligence US Performance Awards 2014 and was also nominated for Best Discretionary Manager. This accolade validates our investment strategy and 2013 performance under the experienced management of Robert J. O’Brien and Ronald L. Anderson,” said County Cork’s President Mark de Souza. “County Cork, through its agricultural managed futures programs, strives to be a leader in alternative investments and provide our clients with proven solutions for their investment needs.”

County Cork LLC was founded by Robert J. O’Brien Jr., former president and current board member of R.J. O’Brien & Associates. R.J. O’Brien, the oldest and largest independent futures clearing firm (FCM) in the United States, is entrusted with over $3B in customer segregated funds, and celebrates its 100th year.
